    • Hi Amy
There are a number of ways you can value your collection. All of these will give you an approximate value as a vinyl record’s value is basically what someone is prepared to pay for it at the time of sale.
You can see what your vinyls are selling for on Ebay with particular reference to using the completed listings on Ebay.
Discogs (www.discogs.com) has a large userbase of vinyls with a very easy to use search facility. You will need to sign up to the site in order to view sales history, etc. but it is free and safe.
Other auction sites may also give you an indication of value although you will notice that prices vary greatly.
There is a new edition of the Rare Record Price Guide by Record Collector for 2012 available. This book basically uses mint values to give you an idea of the price you should be looking for.
You can pick up a copy here – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Record-Collector-Price-Guide-Magazine/dp/095326016X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325585609&sr=8-1
Please be aware that condition plays an important part of determining the value of a vinyl and you should use recognised grading standards to determine how that will affect values.
On top of all that, matrix numbers and stampers (the numbers in the run-out groove of the record), type of sleeve, misprints, mispresses and so on can all add value to a vinyl.
It’s not easy as there are so many determining factors.
I am always looking to buy new vinyl and you can always send a list of the records you have. This takes me some time to work through and invariably results in my asking for further details, but will give you some idea of the process involved.
If you need any further info or help then please do not hesitate to contact me.
      Cheers and Happy New Year!!

  2. Hello, I am a guitar player in Shaolin Death Squad, and I have noticed that you are promoting our band on your site. First off, thank you! Secondly, we have just released our previous album Intelligent Design on vinyl, and I was wondering if you would be interested in moving some of the copies. All profits are intended to send us across the pond to play in Europe. Please contact me if you are interested. Thank you for the support!!

    Kenny Lovern-SDS.
